CBT, DBT, Relational Therapy, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and Yoga
I specialize in depression, anxiety and stress management techniques. I have experience in a broad range of modalities, such as CBT, DBT, Relational Therapy and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction. I also have extensive knowledge of less clinical techniques such as Katonah Yoga.
It is my belief that therapy is a way to develop a deeper understanding of ourselves. There are many specific goals of therapy, but the work leads us towards living a more vital and authentic life. Sometimes we feel stuck and stagnant and don’t know how to get “un-stuck”. Sometimes we need help dealing with all of the pressures that we face in life, with conflicts in interpersonal relationships. Sometimes we need a hand. Together, you and I will use techniques which will help you to deepen self-awareness and give you the power to heal yourself.
My approach is integrative and tailored to the needs of each client. Through the use of insight oriented, as well as evidence based here-and-now strategies, I work colloraboratively to address each client’s specific needs. In addition to being an LMSW, for over a decade I have also been a yoga teacher specializing in one on one sessions.
My background in yoga Is extremely relevant to my clinical work. Yoga helps us to understand the power we have to self regulate our own nervous systems.
